E-book Cover Reveal: Information and Questions Answered... and a Giveaway!

Cover design by Rhonda Ortiz:
a thing of beauty

My first e-book, The Lost Sun: Looking for Light in the Midst of Depression, was about acedia, spiritual sloth, and the need for medication in cases of anxiety and depression and other mental disorders.  I'm thankful to God for this opportunity to write another e-book, and I am so thankful for all of you, my wonderful, faithful readers! It is because of you that this was possible. I have learned so much from this process, and I'm taking that into the next step of my writing journey.

My newest e-book, Beautiful Souls was born out of a realization. I suddenly realized that autonomous, I am not. It was a process that has been actualized with help. The e-book was written entirely by me, but it did not end there. The helper was Rhonda Ortiz. The copyediting and formatting was all done by her. The editing was done by her. The inspiration for the cover was conceived and carried out by her! The end product of that team effort is what I am here to tell you about today. You will recognize the content of this e-book, because it began as a series on this here ol' blog!. It is a compilation of those posts, but it has been thoroughly edited and formatted into its wonderful new form. I am so excited to say that has been edited and revamped, and it is actually now under the title: Beautiful Souls: Holiness in the Home.  Though I was not sovereign over the entire process, this beautiful e-book was born out of this collaboration!

Now, I know that with today's culture and the shining starlets of dear American fame, the subject of Holiness doesn't necessarily make me the coolest bean in the jar. I know that, I am aware of that, and folks, popularity and flattery will never be the name of my game! However, seeking out - with humility, always- the desire for and the fruit of those seeds of holiness? That will always and forever be my aim, amen. I want the roots of holiness and the fruit of Godliness cultivated in my home, ultimately as it is outlined in Scripture. That's my story... and I'm sticking to it.  haha:0)  I desire this deeply: that others join me in swimming upstream. The results of your labor - for Beautiful Souls- and holiness in the home- will reap a harvest of rich rewards.  And the seeds that have been planted will eventually bear fruit. Even if you only have 3 children. (#momfail) Believe it. Buy it!  (!!!)

And that is why I'm so excited to share this newly formatted e-book with you.

Soon- and very soon- it will be available for sale, just as my other e-book was, on Kindle for iPad, as well as available for sale on Paypal.

STAY TUNED: It is coming very soon!

In honor of the release, I'm doing a second giveaway, this time it is just one copy of the e-book.

Well, I did happen to hear from Miss Rhonda that these are books well worth a read; and I'd take her advice any day. Besides, I know from reading your own writing that you've got good things to share. Even though I am a #momfail with only 3 children, I hope I can learn from these books!

Oh ok. You DO know that was a joke, right?!

Thanks for the kind words!

I guessed it was a joke...because otherwise that would be really depressing! :p

I know, right?

Honestly, the hashtag was a reference to something else, and if you didn't get the inside joke, don't sweat it! I do not for a second think that *all* people are called to large families. If I really believed that in my heart of hearts, that would make me insane.

However, if anyone is depressed for lack of enough children, I'm here to talk! Catholic theology supports the rejection of birth control. Though highly unpopular in our culture today, and especially in "free" America, it's actually what we embrace ~ and there are plenty of people who could speak more knowledgably about this. Just because something is cool does not make it the right thing to do. Sadly, people look at statistics for direction rather than the wisdom of the theology of the Church. What is popular should never be what informs our biggest decisions in life!!!!!
