Our Routine Day-in-the-Life with a 5-, 2- and 8.5 month old

I'm jumping in on this link up with simple homeschool.

Although we are still on the fence about homeschooling, we have a pretty regular routine, so I thought I'd share.

7- baby Madeleine wakes me up for her bottle.
She usually goes back to sleep, so I do, too... until
8- Molly and Frances wake us up.
Breakfast of cold cereal or oatmeal and juice and a big mess usually ensues.
9- We get dressed unless we've already done that by now. I'm starting chores.
10- I try to do something meaningful with the girls. This week.... making sugar scrub, playing with rice, helping Molly make Valentine's, snack, reading, painting. Madeleine is napping by now.
11:30-  clean up from playtime, free time until lunch
12- lunch- usually grilled cheese, peanut butter, or quesadillas with obligatory sides- yogurt, chips, etc and dessert- cookie or something like that.
1- clean up for Mommy and video for the girls
2- quiet rest time for everyone. This is usually my writing/blogging time.
3-4 depending on how long they sleep, free playtime
4-5 Molly helps me with dinner preps, plays around the house, colors or helps herself to art projects in our Montessori-style art cabinet.
5- finish making dinner, setting the table, doing chores around the house, drinking healthy juice
6-Daddy comes home and we eat dinner and clear/clean up
7-8 bedtime routine- bath, pj's, 30 min. show
8- bedtime for girls
8-10 I write, Stephen reads/preps for his class/otherwise works
10- bedtime

The girls know what to expect, so for the most part they cooperate. That doesn't mean things go perfectly or we are without meltdowns. That would be deceptive. But our routine is pretty standard and we stick to it as the usual thing. I want to start waking up early again.
